Letter to the Prime Minister!!!

Hi People.

I have today written a letter to the Prime Minister & also to the Chief Minister (Maharashtra). The contents below are self explanatory. Few of you may feel that I am wasting my time but I sincerely feel that somewhere we have to make a start and raise our voice unitedly that its heard & heard loud & clear.

Recent past has seen many a stir caused by us "youth" and simply on social media & just forwarding and forwarding so much that it reaches the right ears!!!

I dont know how many of you agree to all or some but thats my opinion and voice. I just dont want to live but live a quality life.

Read and circulate if you are with me!!!!

Cheers!!!!

To,
Dr. Manmohan Singh
Prime Minister of India
Office: PMO, South Block, New Delhi
Tel: 23012312, 23013149

Dear Prime Minister Sir,

Subject: Why should we pay taxes?

Please tell me why should we pay taxes when;

  • Roads are not in condition
  • Basic civic facilities are absent
  • Your local representatives are not to be seen when needed
  • My locality is so filthy that I feel awkward calling people home
  • I pay out of nose to buy a house, keep it beautiful & welcoming but when I move out, my locality is appalling
  • When I have paid my taxes, why should I bear the brunt
  • Your representatives are only visible when there is hooliganism / power play
  • My locality if plastered with banners wishing birthdays, anniversaries, promotions despite it being illegal but administration does NOTHING
  • I see more of banners, less of greens
  • More filth / garbage than people
  • Footpaths are all encroached upon by vendors, shops etc & hence people are forced to walk on the roads
  • There are vehicles parked on the road meant for driving leaving just ONE LANE to drive
  • Parking on these roads are increasing by the day
  • As a motorist, what privilege do I have when if someone bangs into my vehicle, I have to pay? When people walk on the roads (which are actually meant for motors, and despite being very careful) if someone gets injured, vehicle owner pays. Which mean I pay for someone else’s negligence?
  • Everyone has the right to speak or demonstrate, while only the powerful (read political parties, unions, associations etc) are able to speak & demonstrate more (their power) for their own benefits
  • Do we have an “aam janta” union, association, party etc through which, we make our voices heard?
  • Recession comes, common man suffers, inflation happens; common man suffers. You allow auto fares to rise just because it’s costly to live in Mumbai, but who pays for the fare – a common man. Even then, we are deprived of a ride citing various reasons.
  • I truly believe that PUBLIC TRANSPORT is for public but it’s the public who suffers the most in the hands of this public transport.
  • Public transport is supposed to reduce traffic hassles, pollution, traffic density etc but when common man is subjected to rejections, who do we run to?
  • If inflation has hit these rickshaw drivers, how do you think it has left a middle man unaffected? Ours salaries are not growing at the rate of inflation sir!
  • We the common man, are the softest target for the power players, to arm twist while we suffer the most. Rickshaw unions strike for a raise in fare let the common man suffer.
  •  Mumbai metro was a dream and then we saw some work happening, but alas – cities like Bangalore who started much later than Mumbai, have a phase or two operational already, while we are still dreaming.
  • The infrastructure budgets swell like crazy and who do you think pays for the hike in these costs?
  • We are forced to live a life of compromises despite paying every single rupee in tax with honesty.
  • Please tell me can we stop paying taxes until “all is well” like every other power players, who arm-twists you in submission in the name of a common man but having ulterior motives?
  • Doctors go on strike when their demands are not met while patients die for want of medical aid. I believe they take oath before bring granted certificates that it’s for people good that they are in this profession and NOBODY forced them, then why a common man should suffer?
  • Who hears our plea sir!
  • We make all the fuss over someone Indian achieving anything abroad....have you ever thought what have we as country done or given them to succeed in life. They are Indians by chance...sir!
  • Sunita Williams and the likes are all praised but please look within you and ask yourself what have you done for them to achieve such fete in life? Has anyone born & brought up in India been able to achieve greater heights?-       Sports persons struggle for basic sports gear while we are busy making noise about something that we have no contribution in.
  • Why does it always take a heinous crime to wake us up and formulate a law?
  • If we just start to think local and act national, we shall be in a better tomorrow.
  • Why when in a brawl between a civilian and a government officer, the civilian is punished / taken to task while the government official is let go? Is it not the law same for both? If a civilian is detained, why the government official be left out.

The list can go on and you must be aware about it sir, but unfortunately the action is not seen neither felt.
Please do something about it before it is too late sir!
Humbly yours,

Naveen Jalan
